It's over. The inauguration, that is. Donald J. Trump has been sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. On Friday, in his address to the nation, he said, "We citizens of America are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all our people." Then, in his first act as president, he reversed the FHA mortgage-fee cut, which benefited first-time and low-income home buyers. His top priority in the Oval Office will be dismantling the health care law that covers some 20 million Americans. It directs the secretary of health and human services, as well as other agencies, to interpret regulations as loosely as allowed to minimize the financial burden on individuals, insurers, health care providers and others. It stressed that agencies can "waive, defer, grant exemptions from or delay implementation of any provision or requirement" of Obamacare that imposes a burden "to the maximum extent permitted by law." The only way to prevent a revolution in the US is for ALL bureaucrats at ALL levels of government, to take a large cut in pay, eliminate all of their perks, cut back on staff, and last but not least, try being honest for a change! And we need to: 1. Get out of Iraq 2. Get out of Afghanistan 3. Get out of Libia 4. Reduce aid to the rest of the world. 5. Close all Governor's Mansions and turn them into money making Museums. 6. Governors can serve the public better by having their offices in one of our many empty malls. 7. Tax all Churches. They make money, lots of money. We must introduce a bill in Congress to increase the tax percentage on the upper two percent rich to FIFTY PERCENT, with NO LOOPHOLES! Then we must make it clear to all of Congress that anyone of them who do not vote for the bill will be voted out of office. Seven policemen and several protesters were killed, and the event led to the execution of four radicals. In the Haymarket Riot of May 4, 1886, the police clashed violently with militant anarchists and labor movement protesters in Chicago. Seven policemen and several protesters were killed, leading to murder convictions for seven radicals, four of whom were executed. The strong public and state reaction against the Haymarket protesters has been called the first Red Scare in U.S. history, and their trial has been widely critized or improper procedure and prosecutorial excess. The Haymarket Riot grew out of labor unrest that had been brewing since the 1870s. Unhappy with difficult working conditions and feeling the pressure of economic depression, workers had engaged in periodic strikes. Strong, sometimes violent police opposition to these strikes led to greater labor militancy. Radicals became increasingly convinced that the struggle between labor and capital had come to a head and that the time for revolution was near. Many anarchists publicly advocated the use of explosives to bring down the capitalist system. In 1886, a broad coalition of labor organizations joined to campaign for an eight-hour workday. On May 1, 1886, this coalition initiated a general strike throughout the United States, the effects of which were particularly strong in Chicago. On May 3, fighting broke out at the McCormick Reaper Works in Chicago, and at least two workers were killed by the police. Outraged at these killings, anarchists, members of the labor movement, and other radicals met for a rally in Chicago's Haymarket Square on May 4. The rally was peaceable until the police attempted to disperse the crowd. Then a bomb was thrown into the police ranks, killing seven officers and wounding sixty more. The police fired in response, killing and wounding like numbers of participants. In an ensuing crackdown against the labor movement, the police arrested hundreds of anarchists and other radicals. Two leading anarchist newspapers were put out of business, and their staffs were imprisoned. Finally, eight noted Chicago radicals and anarchists, including nationally known radical leaders August Spies and Albert Parsons, were indicted for the murder of one of the policemen at Haymarket Square. Public opinion turned swiftly against the protesters, in part because seven of the eight defendants in the case were foreign-born. George Bush calls Kim Jong Il "a Pygmy"

What is a 'pygmy'? - "(both: pig´me) or Pigmy , a racial designation of
dark-skinned people who live in equatorial rain forests and average less
than 59 in. (150 cm) in height. Some studies make a distinction between
Negrillos, who live in Africa, and Negritos, who live in Southeast Asia,
New Guinea, and the Philippines: this classification system is rarely used
today".

Pygmies are best known for their small size. 
Adults usually grow to be only three or four feet tall. 
In fact, their name, "Pygmy," is derived
from the Greek word, pyme, which means "a cubit in height." 
The term is often used to degrade someone and in this context, 
it is equivalent to 'wae-nom' (??) in Korean. 
It also denotes racial slur against the African
peoples.
Given below is a Newsweek account of a meeting of George Bush and a group
of US senators, during which Bush called Kim Jong Il a pygmy among other
epithets.
A SUDDENLY EMBATTLED president felt the need to talk tough-at
length-behind closed doors. "No question, when he walked into the room he
was shaken," one senator later said.
What followed, according to several sources who were in the room last
Thursday afternoon, was a jut-jawed, disjointed discourse with a tinge of
diatribe and a crescendo of podium pounding. The president dismissed
questions about his administration's counter terrorism actions-or lack of
them-before September 11 as mere Democratic partisanship.
"I sniff some politics in the air," he scoffed. Then he wandered off to
the Middle East, recounting a blunt Oval Office conversation with Ariel
Sharon. He said he'd asked the Israeli leader if he really hated Yasir
Arafat. Sharon had answered yes, according to the president. "I looked him
straight in the eye and said, 'Well, are you going to kill him?´ " Sharon
said no, to which the president said he'd replied, "That´s good."
Bush was just getting warmed up. "Now you guys really got me going," he
said. He threatened to block the entire defense bill if it contained money
for the controversial and costly Crusader artillery system. "I mean it.
I'll veto it," he said tersely, glancing at Sen. Don Nickles of Oklahoma,
where Crusader would be built.
Bush ended with an attack on North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il. "He´s
starving his own people," Bush said, and imprisoning intellectuals in "a
Gulag the size of Houston." The president called him a "pygmy" and
compared him to "a spoiled child at a dinner table." Stunned senators
didn't know quite what to make of the performance. "It was like in church,
when the sermon goes on too long and you're not sure what the point is,"
one told NEWSWEEK. "Nobody dared look at anybody else."

Frontier Workers OK 10% Pay Cut -
GIVE ME A BREAK !

Take a pay cut or lose your job. 
That was the ultimatum some Frontier workers faced Thursday. 
About 100 people who work at Frontier's Internet Help Desk on 
Jefferson Road in Henrietta voted on changes to their three-month 
old contract. 
They could accept a 10 and a half percent pay cut and other 
changes to their three-month old contract, or have their
 jobs outsourced. 
Workers voted for the changes, some of which were outlined in 
a confidential document we obtained. 
They include, no pay for performance, no general wage increase 
and no progression in pay for different tiered workers. 
Workers say the amended contract protects their jobs for a year. 
Workers would not go on camera for fear of losing their jobs,
but told us they're upset with Frontier and their union for not 
sticking to a contract that was approved only three months ago. 
A company spokeswoman said: "we've reached an agreement 
with the union and both of us remain committed to providing 
our customers with the best possible service." 
The president of Rochester Telephone Workers Association, 
the union that represents the workers, would not comment 
on Thursday’s vote.

As former President Carter begins his historic visit to Cuba,
hoping to ease tensions between Washington and Havana,
President Bush is preparing to toughen his strategy for
dealing with Cuban President Fidel Castro,
Bush will deliver a speech next week outlining the United States'
policy toward Cuba and then travel to Miami to honor
Cuban Independence Day.
The Bush administration has already made one move, with a senior
State Department official last week publicly accusing Castro of
developing limited biological weapons.
Cuba strongly denied this.

The man leading the investigation into the worst 
blackout in history says, "we will not cover up anything." 
Large parts of the U.S. and areas of Canada were plunged 
into darkness in nine seconds, and some are still without power today. 

Superpower With a Third World Grid 

Amid the blame game, former Energy Secretary Bill Richardson 
who described the United States as a "superpower with a 
Third World electricity grid" argued the problem was due 
to an antiquated infrastructure. 

"We have a huge demand for electricity with computers, technology, 
more people, but we have not fulfilled the infrastructure needed 
to deal with that new demand," he told Good Morning America today. 
"In other words, we don't build new transmission lines. The American 
people in many regions don't want them in their backyard." 
The problem, according to Richardson, was essentially because 
almost the entire eastern seaboard was run by the Niagara-Mohawk grid, 
which, "has been overloaded for years." 
Power company officials and government regulators have tried to 
find ways to beef up the Northeast power grid for some time. 
Experts say the Northeast has been short of power supplies needed for hot days
and short of transmission lines to move that power where it's needed. 
"The power outages that we're seeing would suggest that something 
went wrong up in New York state somewhere from Syracuse north to 
the Canadian border," energy writer Bill Paul told ABCNEWS. 
"And what happened was a bunch of safety procedures went into 
play and the lines, the power, started to be cut off what you 
would call down stage. So you had an impact all the way down into Manhattan. 
You had an impact all the way out west into Cleveland and Detroit."

U.S. employers slashed 308,000 jobs from their payrolls
in February, the government said Friday, the worst round of job
-cutting in 15 months, as the world's biggest economy
skidded to a virtual stop in
advance of a war with Iraq.

WASHINGTON The nation's unemployment rate
tumbled below 5 percent last month
for the first time in nearly a quarter-century,
with job levels boosted by a robust low-inflation economy.

"It's worker heaven," declared economist Allen Sinai of Primark Decision Economics.
"This myth that the American worker is an unhappy camper went away eight to 10 months ago.
There are plenty of jobs available."

But he and other analysts cautioned that economic growth
is slowing to a less spectacular, but sustainable, pace.
Joblessness, as measured by a survey of households, fell to a
seasonally adjusted 4.9 percent in April from 5.2 percent a month earlier,
the Labor Department said yesterday.
It was the lowest unemployment rate since December 1973
when Richard Nixon was president
and years before most workers now in their 30s
obtained their first full time job.

Some of the drop in the rate may have been a
statistical anomaly
from an unusually sharp contraction in the size of the
labor force-people working or looking for work.

Weaker Home Sales ADD to CONCERNS of SLOWDOWN

Sales of new single-family homes fell in April (97)
to the lowest level in six months, taking some luster 
off of another government report showing the economy 
grew at a revised 5.8% rate in the first quarter-its fastest 
pace in a decade.

A warning from Intel
Corp., the world's largest computer chip maker, that its 
seeond-quarter profits and sales
will be below estimates also
heightened concerns that the
economy may be losing steam.

"The slowdown is for real," said Brian Wesbury
economist at Griffin, Kubik, Stephens &
Thompson Inc. in Chicago.
"We're seeing slower auto sales
in May, the housing market is
coming off, and the GDP report
has signs within it that growth
in the seeond quarter won't be
as strong."
New home sales fell a larger-than-expected 7.7 percent
in April to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 772.000, the
Commerce department said.
Separately,  Commerce
revised up its estimate of how
fast the gross domestic product, the total output of goods
and services, expanded in the
first quarter. The change from
the original estimate of a 5

stronger exports and inventory investment.

 for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.
 
  At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless
 day, Joe  decided to relax for a while.

 poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) 
 and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA),
 and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job
 in.....AMERICA.....

Survey: Employers set 104,000 job cuts last month, 
capping worst 3-month stretch since spring 2002.

 Hit by rising health care and energy costs, employers 
announced more than 100,000 job cuts last month, 
capping the worst three months of cutbacks since early 2002,
an outplacement firm said Tuesday. 
Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. said companies announced 
104,530 job cuts in November, up 5.1 percent from a year earlier 
and 2.6 percent from October. 
The total marks the first time that announced job cuts have 
topped 100,000 for three or more straight months since 
January to April of 2002.

The telecommunications and auto industries were among 
the industries with the heaviest job cut announcements over 
the last three months.
U.S. employers have announced 930,690 job cuts this year, 
down 19 percent from the same period a year earlier. 
But if December cuts reach 69,310, it will mark the fourth straight 
year with 1 million cuts announced by U. S. employers. 
The report also noted that a new Business Roundtable survey 
of CEOs at major companies found that 20 percent expect 
employment to fall in the coming months, up from 12 percent 
in the previous survey.

 The God awful events of the past few years have left me feeling very
depressed, as I'm sure many of us are. I am always deeply effected 
by the mess that that this world is in, and now more than ever. 
The Oklahoma Building tragedy, the TWA 800 tragedy, and now the
innocent people in Atlanta, Littleton, Yugoslavia,
bring it close to our hearts.
In many parts of this planet these horrible
things happen far too often!

And NOW more and more here in America.
