(March 4, 2004) — Hundreds of E-Znet Inc. customers
lost their DSL Internet connections this week, apparently
after a dispute between the company’s owners and Frontier Corp.
E-Znet’s owner, Rochester-based Envizion Internet Solutions Group Ltd.,
is now attempting to restore service by moving its DSL customers to a new provider.
“If someone had just told me this was happening and given a chance to
do something, that would have been better,” said Robin Merrill Lorenzo
of Brighton, who had used E-Znet DSL service for her home business
as a freelance writer.
Her DSL service stopped working Tuesday morning. “
I’ve already missed meetings because people could not get hold of me,”
she said.
Dave Roehrig of Brighton said he’s shopping for a new provider.
“I just could not believe they would cut us off without sending
any kind of warning,” he said.
Officials at Envizion did not respond to messages left with the company.
Envizion technical support representatives said they were trying to
switch customers to a new provider as soon as possible.
Frontier Corp. was involved in making DSL connections for an
estimated 450 to 500 Envizion customers in the Rochester area,
but that relationship changed this week.
“I am not at liberty to discuss financial relationships with
former customers,” said Frontier spokesman Dave Mihalyov. “
But what happened is not related to any Frontier service problems.
Frontier underwent extensive efforts to avoid this situation with Envizion.”
Envizion is now providing new dial-up Internet access numbers to customers
until they are switched to a new DSL provider.

Letter I sent to the PSC PSC 03/04/04 Internet providers E-Znet / Envizion / Frontier I wanted to be sure you are aware of this. Tuesday March 2, both of our DSL lines went down and crippled our business. I feel Frontier / Envizion and or E-Znet should pay for all of our loses. My business broadcasts two Radio Station Streams 24/7 and we depend on our internet connections for 80 % of our business. I don't know which company is to blame, but there should be a safe guard for this. If I hadn't taken quick action to get us back up, we could have gone out of business. Because Frontier had shut E-Znet/ Envizion down, including their phone lines, I had to nagotiate with Frontier, under very adverse conditions. And three of their employees through it up in my face that if we had been their customer this wouldn't have happened to us ! If you want more information please call. I have kept a record of every person I spoke with. David R. Kaspersin Dynamic Recording Studios

Attorney General 04/13/2004 Complaint: Frontier provides ore DSL lines. They have restricted our out going e-mails to only 100 per 15 minute period. I feel this is illigal and very restrictive to our business. We do not and never have spamed. However many of our clients are famous stars who have thousands of fans who have signed up for e-mail updates. For example xxxx has over 3,000 fans who have asked to be notified as to tour schedule changes. I spoke with many people at Frontier and was told there is nothing I can do about it. However they are not restricting their bigger customers. I feel this e-mail limit should be lifted. Our business is being penalized and what gives Frontier the right to restrict my legal use of the internet. Internet connections are no longer a luxury. They are an important part of commerce today. Let say Frontier owed the RG&E money. Would the RG&E shut down Frontier and cripple the whole city of Rochester ? So my point is, shutting down E-Znet/ Envizion had to be illegal ! And if its not it should be. Dave Kaspersin
