Here is a great quote from the Mountain Express in Asheville, North Carolina: "A Bristol Brothers show is a lively, informed trip through old-style acoustic music...not only do the Brothers play like the dickens, they weave stories about the history of the music and the old-time instruments throughout their sets."
Mountain Express Asheville, NC
Multi-instrumentalist duo The Bristol Brothers Don Springer and Richard Hood ---have championed old-time mountain music and bluegass so long you'd think they started it. These fellas are a piece of Americana that routinely needs to be enjoyed or at least referenced so that musically, culturally, we don't forget from where it is we came. Frank De Blase
We heard you last night ( Feb.23,'02) in Bainbridge, NY...We were blown away with your talent..For such a "down-home" location, we were happily surprised. We love the old style music, and appreciated the information provided about the background of your music, as well as info about your instruments. It was a delightful evening, and we hope to see you again. We used to go to Albert Hall, in Waretown, NJ, to hear the old music of the Pine Barrens as played by the old timers there. If you can email us where you'll be and dates, we'd love to see you again... Thanks again for a wonderful evening!! Bonnie & Jim You performed at the school where I am a teacher today, North Rose Elementary. As a big fan of bluegrass and ol' time music, I just want to let you know how good it made me feel to see the two of you "turning on" our students to this genre. Thank you so much for doing what you do, for sharing it so generously and for representing the music so well. Nancy
