Help Wanted

Web Page

As many of you found, our web site had problems. When anyone tried to go to our site Google produced an error message that we had an unsafe site and proceeding on was not advised.

So after a lot of complaining and moaning, I repaired all 5000+ pages and took off the code that Google was complaining about.

Our web site is back up and running and has been error free for a couple of months. Please check it out and if you find any errors let me know so I can work on them. The only error I know of is the Calendar page. It just plain doesn't work and I’m not sure how to fix it.

Dear Arnie,

Your card about the Pioneers Picnic arrived Saturday. In the past years we have visited Rochester in late August, never hitting the date. But we will not be making the trip again. My wife Gwen is in the late stages of Parkinson’s and in Health/Hospice care — and has congestive heart problems as well— can’t walk an it is 24/7 care and mostly mine. We have been in beautiful NC for 17 years now. I got out in 1994 in TREP 2, all in Electric Distribution— almost 30 years outside and then finished under Bill Fredenburg in engineering —— if I remember correctly, you were in Substations? (Ed Note: That was Arnie’s cousin in Substations)

In any event, I think that you can remove us from your list as a move to Brenham, Texas is imminent and I am pretty sure I will never see Rochester again. Thanks for all your efforts in behalf of the retirees. RGE was a great place to work.

                                                    Sincerely,

                                                    Dick

Arnie received this note from Richard N. Jacobs. If you wish to respond, please use this address as he has no email listed:

Yeah!!!!!  This is the first month since December that I did not an email about RG&E’s Health Care Insurance.  I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or not.

As far as the dental insurance goes. I get two answers, one that says there is no allowance and one that says there is.

My advise is that you keep the money available just incase it’s some special benefit that older retirees got that new retirees don't get…..

The Jefferson Road Luncheon Group dropped me a note that their August Lunch will be cancelled due tp the Pioneer’s Picnic. But it will resume in September.

As an aside, they commented that Tully’s staff is very accommodating and the food is really good.

I received an email from Mary Gardener. I hope we can help.

Dear Mr. Clegg:

I have been hired on in a part-time consulting role to Dick Ash and CPWard Company to help them write their corporate history.  I am quite convinced that this will be an interesting story, when we can fill in many blanks.  Dick asked Phil Brooks for some direction in seeing how we can benefit from some study of RG&E's archives;

he suggested we contact you.  CPW's history is very much connected to RG&E, and in fact, to the history of the City of Rochester, certainly in terms of its built

environment.

I would be happy to meet with you and/or others or to pursue any avenue that would help us gather historical information.  We know that Conrad P. Ward worked with

the Rochester Railway & Light Co., the precursor of RG&E.  Thank you in advance for your suggestions about how I might proceed.  I am trying to to accelerate

information gathering in the next two weeks.

Now I know that someone from one of the operating departments can set her on the right path.
