Web Page |
As many of you found, our web site had problems. When anyone tried to go to our site Google produced an error message that we had an unsafe site and proceeding on was not advised.
So after a lot of complaining and moaning, I repaired all 5000+ pages and took off the code that Google was complaining about.
Our web site is back up and running and has been error free for a couple of months. Please check it out and if you find any errors let me know so I can work on them. The only error I know of is the Calendar page. It just plain doesn't work and I’m not sure how to fix it.

At the August Picnic I had at least three individuals pull me aside and explain about our dental benefits.
He’s a the scoop. We do have a dental benefit through MVP not RG&E. It is a yearly benefit of $200 to be used for cleanings and x-rays only.
Contact MVP and they will mail you the forms, which you take to your dentist. If your dentist accepts them, he’ll fill them out and return them to MVP.
This is sort of like the old dental plan RG&E used to offer without all the extras.
Now just for fun, two of the individuals did have problems,
One called RG&E and they didn’t know anything about the benefit. He called MVP and got the forms.
The second called MVP and the representative he talked to said there was no such thing. He called right back, got another rep and received the forms in the mail a couple of days later.
It all goes to show that you must be persistent in dealing with these people. |
The Jefferson Road Luncheon Group dropped me a note that their August Lunch will be cancelled due to the Pioneer’s Picnic.
But it will resume in September.

I received an email from Mary Gardener. I hope we can help.
Dear Mr. Clegg:
I have been hired on in a part-time consulting role to Dick Ash and CPWard Company to help them write their corporate history. I am quite convinced that this will be an interesting story, when we can fill in many blanks. Dick asked Phil Brooks for some direction in seeing how we can benefit from some study of RG&E's archives; he suggested we contact you. CPW's history is very much connected to RG&E, and in fact, to the history of the City of Rochester, certainly in terms of its built environment.
I would be happy to meet with you and/or others or to pursue any avenue that would help us gather historical information. We know that Conrad P. Ward worked with the Rochester Railway & Light Co., the precursor of RG&E. Thank you in advance for your suggestions about how I might proceed. I am trying to to accelerate information gathering in the next two weeks.

Now I know that someone from one of the operating departments can set her on the right path. |
Another Rochester Picnic goes down In the history books. I didn't have the final count but Arnie assures me it will be right around 200 attendees.
It was a warm day but every appeared to have fun. The food was great, the door prizes were neat, the little fans helped with the heat, and best of all, the bar was air conditioned.
We reserved the Exempt for August 1st, 2013 the first Thursday of the month. So mark your calendars early.
We thank all the people who helped make the day a success.
The Pioneers Club will continue for another year because of those of you attending. |

This is another appeal for you help. |
Speaking of our web site, remember that if you plan on making a purchase at Amazon.com, use our web site to connect with them.
They have a program that awards us (with money!) any time a person signs on to their web site through our web site and makes a purchase. The more income I can generate through these means, the less we need to generate through the Picnic ticket sales.
Remember it is not your Father’s RG&E, we’re on our own.
Amazon can be reached through “Fun Stuff” on our web page or this link
