I was reading my weekly copy of InformationWeek, when I came across an article about a former RG&E Employee. It got me to thinking about all the individuals who spent a short time with us, and then moved on somewhere else to further their careers. If you can provide information on someone else to spotlight, please share it with us. |

When Kate first came to my attention, she was working in the Information Systems area. I’m not sure how long she worked with us at RG&E, but she left to head up a computer systems group at Xerox. She left Xerox and moved to the Midwest. I then lost track of her after she moved to the Midwest. Well you can imagine my surprise when she showed up being profiled in Information Weekly. She is now a Senior VP and Chief Information Officer at Schwan Foods. Schwan Food is a privately held company employing about 22,000. Yes, they are the trucks we are all familiar with selling bulk ice cream and stuff. For the complete article, Click here to connect to the InformationWeek web site. Web Page |
We added a new page to the web site called “Fun Stuff” (that because I couldn’t think of a cute name). The page consists of three areas of quotes, that automatically update every day, and the Rochester weather from the airport (the weather updates a lot more frequently that daily. Remember it’s Rochester). For those of you that go south or west annually, this will help you remember why you do!. The Weather Bug insert also shows local pictures taken every fifteen minutes from different cameras around the area. For those of you who moved permanently, you can see how much the area changes. |
Past Issues of the RG&E News |
Arnie and I paid Rick Meier a visit in October at 89 East Ave. He let us rummage around in the basement. Well we found a lot of issues of the RG&E news dating back to May, 1912, Volume 1, Issue 1. That’s right the first issue! Rick let us borrow some of them, which I am scanning into our web page. They are almost 100 years old and very fragile, and some weren’t in very good shape. But I’m trying. As I get them on line, I know you’ll enjoy looking at them, I did. So I’ll be busy the next few months, getting all this on line for your enjoyment. |
