Proclaim Evangelistic Music Ministry, based in Rochester and under the direction of
Chang Guo & Chun-pei Wang Guo is starting their third CD with Dynamic - and their
second was just released in April!  With some members traveling to Rochester to
perform and record from other parts of the country and Canada, these inter-
nationally reknown musicians fill the studio with a full and joyous sound.

Speaking of International, Danish violinist Pia Liptak and Japanese Koto-player
Ryuko Mizutani are in the studio performing works composed specifically for
violin & koto by Eastman composition students. Pia and Ryuko are squeezing the
CD recording time into their already full schedules of teaching, performing,

This is Ryuko's second trip to Dynamic.  In December, 2007, Ryuko and Marco
Lienhard spent a full day at Dynamic recording the soundtrack for a Japanese
film company.  Marco also has many international performing credits, speaks
fluent Japanese with a charming Swiss accent, and can be found at  www.marcolienhard.com 

Talk about Diverse!  Our MOST diverse friend Charlotte Clarke, Public Affairs
Director at WHAM TV Channel 13, came down to the studio to film Pia & Ryuko
performing Charlotte's television program's theme song "Many Voices, Many
Visions".  Ryuko, wearing traditional Japanese garb, and Pia, playing a violin
of her native Scandinavian origin, performed their own exciting arrangement
to be aired on future Many Voices, Many Visions programs.

Charlotte also filmed Rochester's smooth jazz master, Jimmie Highsmith Jr.,
performing his arrangement of "Many Voices, Many Visions". Jimmie's
segment first aired April 6th and will be added to the Dynamic roster of
repeat performers on Charlotte's public affairs show.  It's fun to see
ourselves Sunday mornings at 11:00 while learning what diverse and educational
celebrations are taking place in our community.

One face we see every week there is Alfred St. John in the opening segment...

And Alfred is wrapping up his Trinidad & Tobago Steelband's
third CD at Dynamic with a Caribbean Christmas CD being released this year.
Currently in the final mixing process, this CD is fabulous blend of
Caribbean rhythms on traditional and popular Christmas songs.  There's even
a saxophone performance by  Jimmie Highsmith Jr. included
and some percussive chops by Tony Padilla.

Speaking of a third CD, The Amadeus Chorale, under the direction of Darla
Bair, is wrapping up "Singing Families" - their own third CD with Dynamic.
Five of the choral groups perform on this fun CD of 22 selections perfect
for families to sing together, and officially being released at their

The Reggae Outkasters, Postive Crisis, Selah Vibes - who are these guys?
Whomever - they're at Dynamic for the third time too, and when these guys
and gals are recording, the place is really jumping!  Listening to them
play puts everyone in a good mood - even Jasmine 
wants to be on the couch for those sessions!

From Reggae to Blues - Dynamic welcomes Rochester bluesman Chris Beard
and his band. Starting his project in May, Chris joins a long line of
folks who have had the blues at Dynamic. Does that sound right? 
We mean the blues of the Coupe de Villes, Hollywood Al & the Mix,

Cloverfield, sure to be a cult classic, is now out on DVD.  Pick it up

Dynamic's Carousel Recordings are going international - again!
CPAC TV (Canada's equivalent of the US's C-SPAN television
network) has requested licensing for use of music
from the Carousel Memories CD, in their upcoming
documentary "One Incredible Year" about the Canadian
homefront during World War I. We're looking forward to seeing
that production in the fall of 2007.


This is the second recent licensing for TV for Dynamic. Die
Regismentskinder (Children of the Regiment) selection from
CD Carousel Memories, was used in the Fall 2006 premier
episode of the CBS hit show "Medium".


Alfred St. John's Trinidad and Tobago Steelband's "Jamaica
Farewell" from the Dynamic Release Caribbean Romance was
selected for the tropical compilation CD of the Princess Cruise Line.
10,000 CDs are now available to happy cruisers in the
on-board gift shops, boutiques and catalog.


That follows upscale womens' and home furnishings giant
Coldwater Creek's selection of The Christmas Song from Tramper's
Dynamic Christmas for inclusion on their Christmas Compilation
Volume II release - also available in stores and catalog.

The Bow Ties have started their second CD w/ Dynamic - 
a collection of holidays songs that should be available for 
Christmas 2007.


Jimmie Highsmith, Jr. has wrapped up his third CD with Dynamic!  
Titled It Is What It Is, this is another fine Highsmith performance 
with lots of guest musicians - including Wycliffe Gordon - 
and Jimmie's smoooooooooth jazz sound.  Look for a release date of 
late spring. 

Local band Black August has been in recording originals - 
they're on the local performance scene - try to catch them at a live show.


Dynamic Recording Artist Jeff Riales is one of a  select group of 
local musicians being highlighted by a documentary produced by WXXI.  
His segment will be recorded the first part of May - keep checking 
to see when the series will be on the air.


Not to say Dynamic's been around a looooooooong time, however.........
having recorded the Coupes singles and CDs over the years, we've now 
recorded drummer George DeMott's son too - He's on the cruise line circuit -
performing and travling all over the world - thanks for coming back to
Rockin' Rochester to record your CD!


Speaking of longevity - Bonnie Abrams is at work Dynamic on her FIFTH Dynamic CD - 
long time partner Allen Hopkins is helping her out with his numerous instruments, 
and we can all look forward to Bonnie's clever lyrics and melodies on another 
great listening experience late fall.


And ANOTHER CD is in the works for Alfred St. John's Trinidad & Tobago Steelband - 
several tunes are wrapped up and we're looking for their third Dynamic CD this year.

Positive Crisis has completed their second demo at Dynamic - 
this energetic band is available for hire and will boost 
the levels at any function.

Music In Motion's Diane Habeeb recently completed a full 
length CD of wonderful piano music - she and the Steinway 
sound great together! Engineer Ray Cordello and Diane 
spent some Sunday afternoons recording and mixing and 
ended up with a fine CD of popular selections.

You may know that John Marshall High School music teacher 
Mary Taylor is the impetus behind the Marshall Urban 
Steel Steel Drum Band - what a great group!  They've recently 
won a grant, congratulations, and are using it to record 
another CD with Dynamic.  Mary's been doing great projects 
with kids here for years - and we're very proud to be 
associated with such a fine teacher and  equally fine students!

The Amadeus Chorale is booked in the studio through the summer - 
working on their second album with Dynamic, this top notch 
group always comes in ready to do their best for Director Darla Baier.


For the years his daughter was attending Victor High School, 
John Garvey of Paulsen, Baker & Garvey fame hosted the Jazz Band 
in the studio recording a CD each spring.  Such a great idea 
and worthwhile endeavor is being continued by the booster club 
this year, and the band is in recording.  What a great opportunity 
for high school performers to have, and thanks to the booster 
club for  giving the kids a never-to-be-duplicated experience.

Thanks to the Steinway, we've been enjoying wonderful classical 
music as many Eastman students are fulfilling audition requirements 
for graduate school at Dynamic.  Cello, flute, oboe, viola, 
violin, and voice all sound especially wonderful when they're 
recorded in Dynamic's wood room with the Steinway.

Hey, was that Dynamic on MTV?  Yes it was, and on VH1 too.  
If you're watching  in the midnight to 2:00 am hours on either 
station Friday and Saturday nights (really Sat and Sun mornings) 
and Sunday nights 8 - 12 - you'll catch 30 seconds of wild 
goings on at Dynamic! Its called "GET YOUR MUSIC HEARD" !

Jeff Elliott has a very very fine package 
(16 cuts - just under 70 minutes of music!!) 
and the photo collage on the insert is a trip through time. There
are lots of familiar names on this release too, like Alfred St. John
(Trinidad & Tobago Steelband), Al Keltz (Paulsen, Baker, Garvey & Keltz,
and The Chowderheads), Mike Palma (of Mike & Mike), Dick Leschorn (Dinner
Dogs), Chuck Parnell (Dolan & Parnell, Stewed Tomatoes), Jerry Brongo (Boss
Street Band, Stewed Tomatoes), Cindy Miller (Here's To The Ladies creator)
- even Jeff's Mom (former NYS marimba champion) is on this CD playing the
marimba tracks!  

The Jonathan Feldman Trio (you've heard them at the MAG and the Eastman
House gigs) just wrapped up the recording of their CD at Dynamic Recording
and it's out being pressed. Jonathan Feldman on piano and vocals, Steve
Gates on drums, and Laura Sommer on bass put together a smooth and jumping
release of jazzy bluesy tracks - mixing standards and some unusual tunes
turned jazz! 
 They'll be celebrating the release of this first effort 
on Saturday, August 26, 2000, at Pomodoro (on University). 
Should be a fine evening of music 
(food's fine too!) - let's all go!!

CDs of your own music are a great gift.  
And they're very affordable. Any orders of twenty 
or more CDs are only $4.00 each (and that includes 
the laser label, AND the jewel box) - if you've got 
those old cassettes, reel-to-reel, vinyls (any speed), 
or even wire recordings tucked away some place, 
maybe now is the time to get them out, get them on CD, 
and share the gift of a musical memory.




Here's an interesting tidbit.....in July Mitzie Collins went to Florida, 
The Emigrants went to New Zealand, Alfred St. John went to Texas, 
Peg Dolan went to Virginia, and Paul Stuart went to Massachusetts .....
or at least their recordings did!

the world to hear the excellent music being produced right here 
in Rockin' Rochester!  People in New Jersey, Mississippi,

Dynamic guitarist and singer-songwriter Bonnie Abrams (eight Dynamic

Corners Klezmer Band) served on the panel for discussion after the March 5
performance of Kindertransport  presented by Center Stage. 

The WXXI - Channel 21 annual auction is coming up soon and Dynamic
