Dangers of Over Pruning

We have (had) five very large and tall Willow Trees on our property that I have always loved. We noticed that the last three tree trimmings at our home, 44 East Manitou Rd had killed the Willow Trees. So, we sent an email to the Rochester Gas and Electric three times as follows: Third REQUEST Please send the dates of the last three times the trees were trimmed at the above address. Months and years will be OK if you do not have the exact dates. Thank you, Dave Kaspersin Next Request goes to the PSC ! "Write to RG&E We have received your message. Thank you for contacting us through the Internet. Your message is being processed." After the thrid request above I received this: Dear David Kaspersin, Thank you for your recent correspondence. Your request has been forwarded to our Arborist Department. They will be in contact with you once they have located the information you have requested. Please reply to this message with any future email inquiries. Sincerely, KK (Guess KK doesn't want his name to be known) Kevin, "our Aborist", called and I told him because the RG&E had killed our trees I wanted them taken down and removed, as they were now a hazard to me and our neighbor. Shortly, I recieved a call from one of Kevin's employees who said "I'm here on your property and you are wrong about the trees". I told him, before you go on, tell your boss, the trees are removed or I go to the PSC, with pictures. Kevin called a half hour later and said "I'm here on your property and you are correct. Please give me four or five weeks to start" Three weeks later all five of the Willow Trees were gone ! How ever, it looks terrible, so I will have to replant. BUT, not under the Utilities Wires - - - So, if you see the "Arborist Team" heading you way, you do have some options. Personally, I think the Utility should discuss their Trimming plans with the property owners, BEFORE they start. The mass destruction I see on properties around Rochester, tells me a lot of trees are going to die. And it looks terrible ! Dave kaspersin BTY: Allthough the RG&E paid to have this done. In reality, we are all paying for this in our Bills - - - Dangers of Over Pruning | Arborilogical Services, Inc Dangers of Over Pruning. Large or Profuse Cuts Lead to Decay Any cut made on a tree is a wound that must be healed. The fewer cuts made the better Removing a large amount of the foliage significantly reduces the tree's ability to produce food. Pictures of our Willow Trees after the Third Pruning
