Hazard at Bee Bee and Russell Station

I sent this to the RG&E, Monroe County Health and the Town of Greece on Sept. 12, 2016. Hazard at Russell Station. A big chunk, and we do mean big, of the former RG&E Beebee Station in the High Falls area was brought down on Thursday, creating a massive dust cloud that enveloped the site where crews appeared to be working and then wafted across the Pont de Rennes bridge, where people were walking. Yikes! Hope everyone held their breath. RG&E officials told the D&C in 2013 that it was razing the plant because it was beyond its useful life, structurally unsound and filled with asbestos, lead paint and other hazards. (Matt Bielewicz posted a video to YouTube capturing Thursday's action at Bee Bee Station. It would seem they are planning to bring Russell Station down in the same manner. This should not be allowed until safe guards are put in place, and residents in the area are warned, including the Lake Shore Country Club. Sincerely, David R.
