It is time for Bush, Chertoff, and Brown to resign!
There is no acceptable excuse or explaination for not
responding to a natural disaster for 5 DAYS! There is
no doubt that this is just the beginning of them, and
all the others who failed, trying to wiggle out of responsibility.
The question is, are we going to let them do it?

If they and others responsible for the complete failure do not
resign voluntarily, it is time that we remove them.

How bad does it have to get and how much worse can it get before
there is a demand that the people responsible for the failure be
held accountable for their complete incompetence and negligence?

What level of avoidable destruction and loss of life have to take
place before people have had enough?

What more indication of incompetence and negligence is neccesary?

Are we really going to trust even one more important matter of
state to be handled by these thoroughly incompetent and negligent men?

We all watched these men pat eachother on the back for a job well done
when they had yet to even respond. They seemed to be the only ones
on the planet not aware that nothing was being done. Peoples lives
obviously took a backseat to photo opportunities. How long did bush
hold up the relief trucks carrying food and water so that it could
coincide so conveniently with his poorly staged press blitz. How many
people died in the mean time? We can not afford to allow people so
out of touch with reality to have even one more moment in important positions.

BUSH, CHERTOFF, BROWN, resign now!!!

I would like to know what the mayor of New Orleans do with the
1/4 Billion Dollars he received from Homeland Security?

Entertainer Paul Simon was on the scene in Miss. today with the
mobile medical unit that he co-founded. This mobile doctoring
service usually serves as kids in poor neighborhoods. Paul is
another caring celebrity and we thank him for his efforts in Katrina's aftermath.

scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is
so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people

chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."

No wonder her son is such a genius.

...and his high-priced friends at FEMA and DHS twiddled their
thumbs as this disaster approached.

Yet the bots still love and support him unconditionally and blame the victims.

How sick a segment of America has become.

BUSH AND FEMA need to hang their thick, insensitive heads in shame.
If you think that just only liberals are astonished by the ineptness
and lack of accountability exhibited in New Orleans, guess again.
I and all of my friends (RIGHT WINGERS INCLUDED) are horrified by
the sheer bungling and hell that has been inflicted on US citizens
in the Katrina aftermath.

In fact, we'd all like to know (since we're dealing with some
collossal FEMA incompetents),
WHAT BEAURACRATIC 3-part FORM DO US CITIZENS NEED TO FILL
OUT NOW IN THE EVENT THAT A DISASTER TAKES PLACE IN OUR CITY?
CAN WE EXPECT TO WAIT A MONTH FOR A PORT-O-LET? CAN WE EXPECT
TO WAIT A WEEK FOR FOOD, WATER AND INSULIN?

We just love how FEMA's head, Brown, was in denial for days.
It took the media to get the point across as to the hell that
was going on in New Orleans. Now if FEMA's Brown can't assess
a situation, why are we relying on Brown and his staffers to
manage a crisis and take appropriate action?

FEMA needs overhauled. I suggest that as part of FEMA training
that all staffers spend several days in the Astrodome, knee deep
in fecal material and without food and water. Make the FEMA folk
live like an animal alongside g decaying corpses.

Us taxpayers deserve better. We deserve a disaster relief organization
that can move its *** in a time of crisis in a time of crisis.
We do not deserve the wild west and bedlam.
All FEMA has excelled at is finger pointing.

Fire Brown and smack Bush upside the head. Let them both
go to work flipping burgers where he can inflict less harm.

GOD HELP THE USA IN FUTURE DISASTERS. The people "in charge" are clueless.

Now that Fidel Castro has offered to send 1,100 doctors
and 26 tons of medicine to help the victims of Katrina,
let's see if George Bush puts the concerns of his people
in front of his political concerns...

Why God did the greatest nation in the world wind up with
the worst leader of all time. GW Bush is an embarrassment.
As an American who served his country, I have nothing but
contemp for Bush and his complete lack of leadership ability.
He's corrupt and needs to be impeached. 9-11, Iraq and now New Orleans.
All are complete Bush 'screw ups' that have cost innocent American lives.

Peter Jennings would be proud of all of the ABC news staff
who have been working around the clock to keep America and
the world informed about this terrible disaster. You have
asked all of the hard questions and sought after all of the
needed answers and because of you I am proud to be an American citizen.

Katrina and New Orleans

I read, watch, see, cry
taking in this deadly week
The punishing sky
Soaks both poor and meek
The wealthy high and dry.

Monuments will be rebuilt
A downtown of monumental size
But the culture lies between
In the streets where the spirit
Of the people thrives
Beyond our eyes
Now what do their lives mean?

They wait for care to arrive
With hope fragile, but alive
They know what we won’t say
That on the fifth day
They already knew their place.

Poverty breeds class
Freedom is bound
They’re trapped in place
Grounded by their lack.
The land of the free
For those who have the means.

Devastation tragedy catastrophe
Why not me?
Society has determined
I’m allowed to go free.

The others I’m watching
are part of me
mutual humanity
a shared city
and needed reciprocity
Time for a common dream.

I spoke to my husband today who is in Iraq. He says that he has
several soldiers working for him that are from New Orleans.
They feel betrayed. They are there fighting for a country that
has nothing to do with them and at the same time their government
is abandoning their families at home. One said that there is negative
talk about looting. Why? It is survival. Of course there are some
that were taking silly things, but now with the seriousness of this
it shouldn't matter. They need food, water, and supplies and if no
one is giving it to them, they should take it. They should do whatever
to survive. Many of them have wives, children, parents, etc at home
and don't know if they are dead or alive. They are helpless there in Iraq
and it will only affect how they operate there. How can they think about
their mission knowing their families are possibly gone. They are angry
with the President. They have supported his mission without any bad
feelings or words and now they are not being supported. It took a matter
of hour to get to Iraq, but taken almost a week to help less than 2 hours away.
No one cares how they feel. They want Americans to stop being concerned with
the stupid stuff and HELP their families and friends.
They want Americans to DEMAND Bush to do something now. Thank you

And lastly from Dynamic dave: WAKE UP AMERICA Our government is now BY THE RICH and FOR THE RICH ! And they do not care about you and me ! ITS TIME TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK !
