A local recording company has military service members in mind this time of year.
Dynamic Recording and the Anchor Inn hosted "Christmas for any Soldier."
They collected dozens of supplies for those in the military.
Donations will go to an on-line program called anysoldier.com.
"We have had a great turnout,” said Jackie Kaspersin of Dynamic Recording.
A lot of people are bringing stuff in and a lot of people are handing us
money to help pay for postage and for us to purchase things."
Donations totaled more than $1,000 and will be distributed to service members
in time for Christmas.

The Christmas for AnySoldier.com event hosted December 2, 2006 was a huge success!
Thank you to everyone who helped - twenty boxes of food, personal care items, socks,
games, and more were sent to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from the donations,
cash donations, and raffles held that day. Special thanks to:
The Anchor Inn - for hosting the event, offering drink specials and a GREAT! buffet for
patrons, and Fawn Passeri, manager. Fawn not only organized the entire benefit,
making sure all the details were taken care of for a successful day -
she was packing the goodies and shipping them out as well. Great job Fawn!!
Jeff Elliott - entertained all day and did a wonderful job as Master of
Ceremonies - who WERE those people you let get up and sing with you??
And thanks Jeff, for getting all the raffle donations from the restaurants and
entertainment venues where you perform! Applebee's, Bayside Restaurant, Beale St. Cafe,
Famous Dave's Barbeque, Flaherty's Three Flags, J.J. Qinlan's, Keenan's Restaurant,
Merchant Street Smokehouse, Nick's Seabreeze Inn - thanks to all for supporting this event!
American Legion Greece Post - brought down a sizable cash donation when they heard about
the event
Dynamic Recording - Dave and Jackie who handled the publicity and
worked the event all day selling tickets, explaining the event to drop ins, and packing
and shipping the boxes to the troops.
Doc Bubba - thanks for plugging those raffle tickets for the quilt Doc! Your efforts
resulted in $80.00 !
Jackiesquilts.com for donating the patriotic child's quilt, teddy bear and quilt for teddy
for the raffle.
Thanks to all the generous patrons of the Anchor Inn, the friends and family of the
organizers, and all the people who stopped in and donated goods and cash, and signed
the cards to send the troops. Thanks to the
winners of the 50/50s who turned their winnings right back into the "pot". We all had a
great day for a very worthy cause and the recipients of all the boxes will
certainly understand that they are thought of and appreciated by the folks back home.
Oh, and thanks to the two guys at the bar who said the troops had everything they need -
the "discussion" that followed sparked this event and helped to educate a lot of people!
