Do the Right Thing Scholarship Recipients 2008:

Six graduating seniors who were nominated
 for the “Do The Right Thing” Awards Program
were honored with $500.00 college scholarship
on Friday, June 6, 2008.  Rochester Police
Chief David T. Moore presented the students
their scholarships.  The presentation was
held at the Memorial Art Gallery,
500 University Avenue at 3:00 p.m.


The “Do The Right Thing” Awards Program
is sponsored by the Rochester Police Dept.
and the local business listed within.


The “Do The Right Thing” Awards Program
and the sponsors that support this program
are committed to opportunities in higher
education.  As the Rochester Police Dept.
continues to build positive relationships
amongst our youth, we honor the privilege
to assist in their personal growth and
development by providing program seniors
the opportunity for a college scholarship.
This is the 12th year that the “Do The
Right Thing” Awards Program has offered
college scholarships and to date this
program has given $54,000.00 to our area
youth to continue their education.


The recipients for the 2008 scholarships are:

    Candice Allysse Griffin is a graduating senior
from James Monroe High School. Candice will be attending 
Monroe Community College studying Political Science.

·  Alexis Olivia Walker is a graduating senior
from School of the Arts.  Alexis will be attending 
Polytechnic University studying Chemical and 
Biological Engineering.

· David Mazzulo is a graduating senior from 
Churchville-Chili High School. David will be 
attending Oswego State University studying 
Business Administration.

· Jeffrey Robert Allen is a graduating senior
from Hilton High School.  Jeffrey will be
attending St. John Fisher College studying
Education.

· Katrina Michelle Thornton is a graduating
senior from Greece Arcadia High School.
Katrina will be attending Monroe Community
College studying Science Biology.

· Vivian Florence Reaves is a graduating senior
from James Monroe High School.  Vivian will be
attending Monroe Community College studying
Liberal Arts.
