Almeta's Biography

Although Ms. Whitis holds a degree in Development Planning from the Dept. of Economics at SUNY Brockport, Brockport, New York, it has been as an educator and artist that she has established a reputation.

For over 25 years she has worked as an actress; dancer; writer; director; stage and television producer/show host; counselor; choreographer; storyteller; creative, business, and arts-in-education consultant; teacher; motivational speaker; direct sales person; administrator; trainer and performing arts instructor for University of Rochester, SUNY Brockport, Eastman School of Music and Empire State College.

An ordained minister, she brings a wealth of expertise in her programs available for corporate, non-profits, schools and universities and she has a magically inspiring effect on all who listen to and interact with her.

Almeta is as talented in getting a room full of executives to sing along and encouraging troubled young people to open up and creatively express their innermost thoughts as she is in making an auditorium full of squirming children quietly become engaged in the wonder of storytelling.

She travels internationally and was recently awarded "1993 Decade of the Child Award" from the Governor of New York State and "1995 Lay Educator of the Year from Phi Delta Kappa."
